Tsimento Beach Bar

You will find the Tsimento Beach Bar at the cliff’s base. A magical spot, perched on a concrete platform by the sea. The crystal clear waters of this cove make it one of the most popular seaside locales in Heraklion. An ideal place to laze under the sun with a refreshing cocktail in hand.

Tsimento bar is situated one level above the concrete platform and offers a variety of light meals and beverages. Cool off with your drink of choice. There is something here for everyone: healthy smoothies, Greek-style iced coffees, chilled beers, mouth-watering milkshakes and of course a selection of our signature cocktails. Renowned mixologist Stavros Vasiliadis has compiled our cocktail list and has created delicious recipes with fresh ingredients and the finest local spirits.

Please note that this bar and platform operate during Summer months / weather permitting. It is not an all-inclusive bar but please ask about what offerings may be available to you depending on your reservation.

The Sea

The waters at Tsimento are usually calm and crystal-clear. This tranquil state is actually quite a rare phenomenon for the North coast of the island. This platform is one of the few spots that is rarely affected by the on-going Summer trade winds or ‘Meltemia’ that frequently stir Crete’s Northern shores.
Tsimento is a swimmer’s paradise! Did you know that swimming in the Greek sea is about as safe as it gets? Shark attacks are unheard of, tides are barely perceptible, and here at Tsimento, the sea is rarely wavy!
In the unlikely event of severe weather conditions, our staff will raise a red flag to warn visitors that it is not safe to swim. *Please note that parents must supervise their children at all times and that a lifeguard is not on duty.

Water Activities

At Tsimento, beyond the pleasures of swimming, snorkelling and basking under the sun, a variety of exciting activities are also provided by the Blue Water Club. At their dedicated desk, you will discover exciting options such as: boat rentals and tours, SUP (Stand-Up Paddle-boarding), jet ski rental, canoe hire and more! You can embark on a thrilling journey to explore secluded beaches only accessible by water. No boating license is necessary, allowing anyone to assume the role of ‘captain’ for their aquatic escapade. Should you prefer expert guidance however, knowledgable crew members are at your service.
